This course covers effective risk management, applying relevant WHS/OHS laws and legislative framework, contributing to WHS/OHS consultation within the workplace, incident and emergency response, contractor compliance as well as rehabilitation and return to work programs.As part of your studies, you can opt for specialist electives suited to the following industry sectors: construction, healthcare, transport and logistics, early childhood education, and hospitality. You will learn practical skills from qualified teachers currently working in WHS, who can pass on industry insights and guide you through our unique practical education. Your teachers can help you with building career paths, assist with networking opportunities and mentor you throughout the course.This course is also available to corporate clients. Entry Requirements

To be eligible, students must be at least 16 years of age.There are no formal entry requirements, however it is advantageous to have previous vocational or workplace experience.

Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview.These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen. Evening classes: Every Monday and Wednesday from 6pm - 9pm for 6 monthsTo receive this qualification, you must complete 10 units in total, comprising of 5 core units and 5 elective units. Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry and staff qualifications.
