Studying the Course in Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure up to 22kW at Holmesglen

This pilot program, funded by the Victorian Government, is tailored for qualified ectricians. It covers consulting with clients about electric vehicle charging infrastructure (EVCI) needs, assessing how new EVCI can integrate with existing residential and small commercial electrical setups, designing compliant EVCI based on usage, configuration, and budget requirements, as well as evaluating options and testing and commissioning
suitable EVCI to meet these needs.
During the on-campus workshop, which is teacher-led and face-to-face, participants engage in presentations and discussions to reinforce the theoretical knowledge covered in the pre-course work. They also participate in practical demonstrations and activities to acquire the skills needed to design, test, and commission compliant EVCI installations. Assessments, including both theoretical and practical components, are conducted towards the end of the session.
Upon successful completion of the accredited course, learners become trained EVCI personnel capable of safely and efficiently designing, testing, and commissioning EVCI. Holders of this licence have met the licencing and registration criteria established by the relevant state or territory regulatory body.
However, there are currently no formal pathways for credit transfer or articulation into other vocational education and training or higher education qualifications for the course in electric vehicle charging infrastructure up to 22 kW.
